Kosrae Dive Site: Walung Drop-Off
Here it is an easy drop down the mooring line into a garden of hard coral.
Not far from the mooring sits a lime green adhesive anemone complete with
popcorn shrimp. Then as you move over to the edge of the reef, tiers of overlapping
hard corals cascade down into the depths.
Frequent visitors here are schools of barracuda and dizzying swoops of rainbow
runner, keep an eye out for squadrons of eaglerays that can sneak up on you
from behind but remember to look down occassionally, that is if you can take
your eyes of the big picture, to find clams of kaleidescopic colour nestled
amongst the corals and virtually every dive on Kosrae's reefs reveals anemones
and anemone fish and the prime locations always seem to feature multiple
anemones often of differing species.
